Yesterday six suspects were arrested at the Queensway branch of Barclays and 20 million in fake dollars recovered from them.
The gang, which is believed to be engaged in the printing of fake currency were intercepted by Flying Squad officers at the CBD based Barclays branch.
Four of the six suspects were identified as Mohammed Ijaz, Elizabeth Muthoni, Irene Wairimu and Eric Adede, who contested for the Homabay Town constituency parliamentary seat.
The DCI shared the photos of the suspects on social media to publicly warn the public about the gang. He wrote:

@DCI_Kenya Detectives in connection with Fake currency amounting to slightly over 20Million US Dollars @Barclays_Kenya~Queensway Branch. The fake notes in 100 Dollar denominations were recovered from the Bank’s Safe Room| @Barclays_Kenya.
