Hitmakers Otile Brown and Papa Jones have come to take over 2019. Their much-awaited collabo dropped on Monday and it is titled Japo Kidogo.
The song has garnered over 235,180 views on Youtube in less than 48 hours leading it to the number 5 spot in the trending Kenyan videos list
The song which was produced by the Enos Olik has a beat that can be described as Bongo Afro-pop fusion.
It has a vibe that will make you want to put on your dancing shoes whether you are listening to it at the club or your crib.
Otile Brown who refers to himself as Bad Man Shivo has proved that he can manoeuvre his way around any instrumental by opening his verse with a dancehall style then later transitioning to his normal singing style, which he tends to mumble.
His intro though is so cheekily done, it might get you thinking that he is still beefing with his ex Vera Sidika.
…wengine ni daraja sio makasi (Those others are not up to your grade [everyone has walked All over them], they are exaggerated.
In one Instagram post he told his haters:
Tell them I am done nimewala sana sai nimetulia sitaki mbwembwe. (Tell them, I’m not in the game anymore).
Y’all leave me alone. I’m a changed man. She changed me.
In his verse, Otile is seen praising a woman’s fire waist and how he can’t help but salivate over her twerking prowess.
mama kiuno chako unavyokizungusha nabaki nakutamani.nawewe ushajua nia yangu ndio maana unajisheua na makusudi.
His verse is delivered with oomph and might be the best part of the song for me.
However, the self-proclaimed OG surprised many by unleashing his R&B side by singing his verse with so much ease that it might get you thinking he is not a rapper.
He penned down panty-dropping lyrics guaranteed to turn women on.
unanipandisha sting na sielewi mbona unakuwa mkali nikitupa lugha…. utazungusha mpaka lini? juu we mwenyewe unanitaka na unafurahi ninapo kuza…. umeniwacha nahema….
‘Kwani Vera alikuibia manguo?’ Otile Brown accused of repeating clothes.
This is not the first time that these two hitmakers have worked together. In 2015, the two worked on Imaginary Love, a song that introduced many music lovers to Otile Brown.
“We haven’t spoken for two years” Octopizzo speaks about Khaligraph Jones
In a scale of 1-10, I’ll give it a 7 considering the OG stepped-up his fashion game by donning on a dapper suit.
Maybe if its video quality was at per with the lyrics and beat then it could score a 9 out of 10.
