Hassan Mugambi became a media sensation after he was filmed live on air slapping fellow journalists at a press briefing during the aftermath of the Dusit terror attack.
We recently spoke to the journalist at Nandy’s album launch and he admitted that he was a fan of her music.
Mugambi also said that his slappathon was prompted by the other journalists not respecting a previous agreement they had set.
The agreement was that they would not block the cameras, which some of then unfortunately did. He also explains that not everyone he slapped was a genuine journalist and that some of the people there were bystanders.
Mugambi added that he was not proud of what he had done but that something had to give at the time.
He has also promised that his outburst would not happen again, saying that both his mother and Rashid had spoken to him about the incident.
And what about his romantic life? The journalist clarified that the previous controversy about him getting married was all a misunderstanding, stirred up by his close friend, Rashid.
He said that the feature he was working on at the time concerned Swahili brides. The muscular journalist related that Rashid had used a photo they had taken while doing the feature to stage-manage what seemed to his (Hassan’s) wedding.
In the end, it was all a ruse by his great friend and colleague, Rashid Abdalla. But the man says that he is about to get married, telling us that his wedding was ‘coming up.’
And who was the special someone? On this question, he remained mute refusing to acknowledge which woman it was that had won his heart.
