The recently elected Kyadondo East MP Bobi Wine whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu was sworn in on Tuesday afternoon during the plenary sitting of the House.
“The last time I was in parliament, I was in Primary One [in 1989],” he said.

As he makes his official entry into the August house, the very influential personality is being courted by both sides of the house, the ruling NRM party and the opposition, to work with them by signing a memorandum of understanding with either of them.
“i’m a leader and this country has a president when I meet him at a function I have to great him with respect,” Bobi wine defended himself in an interview with NTV.
This was after he was spotted greeting Museveni at a funeral event and the online community was dismayed thinking he had joined forces with the ruling party.
Bobi Wine insisted that his interests are in building his constituency and working hard for his people.
In his recent post he wrote, “This morning, I had an interaction with Sande Patrick one of the many supporters who were tortured by Police live on TV on the 29th of June at Kasangati resort centre during the Kyadondo East By-election. Patrick was roughed up, assaulted and kicked so hard that his manhood was destroyed and up to now he is still passing blood although he is undergoing intense treatment. Since we can not report the injustice to the perpetrators, we intend to petition Uganda Human Rights Commissions for redress. This kind of impunity must stop.”
