Larry Madowo I have hundreds of texts with Bob Collymore going back to 2011. He responded to each of the countless interview requests, banter and more recently, health updates. He lived a full, passionate life. ‘Hello, is this London calling?’ That’s how he answered the phone when I called him after joining the BBC. Even in sickness, his wit was razor sharp. ‘No, I’m actually in Nairobi right now.’ He was disappointed that I didn’t catch on immediately. I’ll miss a good sparring partner.
So long, my friend
