President Uhuru Kenyatta during his tribute to the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore at All Saints Cathedral reveals that he regrets he missed the chance to collect a ‘special gift’ reserved for him.
Uhuru said, “I was supposed to have gone back to collect my gift reserved for a special friend from Bob and so Peter Kenneth, Oigara and crew, you will pay. That did not belong to you.”

Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth had earlier on in his tribute revealed that Collymore went into his whisky cabinet store and opened a limited edition scotch bottle he had saved many years for a ‘very special guest’.
Since the special guest didn’t turn up for the gift, Collymore insisted Kenneth and his friends from the Boys’ Club – that consists of media personality Jeff Koinange, KCB Group CEO Joshua Oigara, Radio Africa Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo, Standard Chartered, Nigeria CEO Lamin Manjang and Scanad CEO Bharat Thakrar.
KCB CEO Oigara described Collymore as a “very authentic even in difficult situations. And the conversation was always open between the boys. He had extraordinary courage.”

The bottle in question was a Johnnie Walker, director’s blend it was a limited edition. The bottle was labelled 138 of 504 bottles in that edition.
Thakrar added, “It was the first time ever for Patrick Quarcoo ever had whisky,” adding, “Even bob himself took the whisky.”
