Trolls reshared the photo making mean comments about her body. In an interview with BBC Africa, while narrating about her cyberbullying experience, Lynda said,

I posted this picture because we were happy, we were having fun on vacation, a regular family on vacation… afterwards, I saw that people expected me to wear, I don’t know, garbage bags.

Ther mother of one said her hubby is the most supportive.

‘My husband is the most amazing person because he’s the blindest to a lot of these things. I thank him for that. But I must say this time round what got me was people DMing him and telling him really mean things,’ Lynda said.

The mother of one added,

The meanest comment I have come across was about my child, that I have no right to have a child because of how I look. When I was young I have always struggled with my weight I could not eat in public because people stared at me when I ate so I started eating in the toilet, which is ridiculous.

Lynda Nyangweso also revealed that she contemplated suicide because of all the pressure.

I was set like I’m gonna kill myself, this is how it’s gonna happen and the only reason I didn’t go through with the suicide was because I worried my mom won’t find a coffin that would fit me. It’s ridiculous it sad…makes my voice shake because I hope one day no girl will ever do that. My sadness is for other girls who’re going through this. And now with the internet, it makes it worse,’ said a teary Lynda.

She further advised her followers not to entertain negativity.

When it comes to social media, stop following people who make you feel bad about yourself. Even if they do a function without you knowing it…stop following them and protect your peace.

Lynda Nyangweso’s story has touched many, here are some reactions.

kalekyemumo I am so so proud of you. We must keep this conversation going if just but for other girls.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.

baristar_bellah U made me cry coz I know how that feels… Being talked negatively of and bullied coz of your difference…you just reminded me of how I was bullied in primary and high school for being the only different person. Being the only white person in a black community. I regretted being born with albinism as the discrimination was just unbearable.. 🤔🤔🤔And just like you I once contemplated suicide. But like they say God’ has a purpose for all of us. I chose to follow my purpose and became deaf and blind to what people said about me. But hey, time flies I became a lawyer and here I am commenting on your post1f602 - ‘I wanted to commit suicide,’ Lynda Nyangweso talks about cyber-bullying1f602 - ‘I wanted to commit suicide,’ Lynda Nyangweso talks about cyber-bullying1f602 - ‘I wanted to commit suicide,’ Lynda Nyangweso talks about cyber-bullying. Some of the people who bullied me coz of my skin colour have nothing to offer have miserable lives and some are just struggling so much sorry to say. ..but so is life. Diversity is strength we can’t all be tall or short, black or white, fat or petite, intelligent or illetrate.. It’s the diversity in us that makes us beautiful… If we all looked the same that would be ugly. You are a happy charming gal keep doing you. Don’t let that get to your skin. You motivate so many including me ❤️❤️..love you girl.. And remember you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the eyes of God ❤️❤️

webimusic There are people who love you and to them, you are a gem. I’ve learned that people who bully/hate, do so to hide the dysfunction, sadness, void, feelings of insignificance, resentment and disappointment that they harbour about their OWN lives. Showing kindness like you said, if ever given the chance, is what Jesus would do and He’s proud that you have His heart. Keep living, shining your light and bring the best version of yourself. We out here rooting for you
